Abraham

Abraham (or Ephrem), the sixty-second Coptic patriarch of Alexandria (after St. Mark), was the son of Zera (or Zaraat), and succeeded Minas (or Mennas) II in 977, and was poisoned after filling the see four years. He is commemorated as a saint and martyr by the Alexandrian Church on Dec. 2. His life is written in Syriac and Arabic, and is to be found joined to that of Barsuma in the National Library at Paris, No. 795.
