Ascus

As′cus (ăs′kŭs), n.; pl. Asci. [NL., fr. Gr. ἀσκός a bladder.] (Bot.) A small membranous bladder or tube in which are inclosed the seedlike reproductive particles or sporules of lichens and certain fungi.
