Atheist

A′the·ist, n. [Gr. ἄθεος without god; ἀ priv. + ? god: cf. F. athéiste.] 1. One who disbelieves or denies the existence of a God, or supreme intelligent Being.

2. A godless person. [Obs.]

Syn. — Infidel; unbeliever.
